Oook, I have to research setting up a website for one job. Then for the other I have to hunt down transcripts for about thirty faculty. As well I have to copyedit a 112 page book by Friday, clean for my party, chop veggies and make dip, write an article, clean for my party, meet with my writing friend tomorrow, do yoga, and finish my taxes all by Friday.
Yeegods! But the good thing is, though I keep losing spots on the online tax system, that the taxes are nearly done and I'll get back more than I thought. I keep forgetting that I have carry forwards from previous years. And now I have to go and check other years to see if I have more than two. I'm saving 2005's for this year's taxes since I'll owe more when I do them next year. But still, this bodes well for going to Ireland and getting laser surgery and buying a digital camera. Which reminds me I have to send a cheque to my sister for the plane ticket, pay off the stupid idiots at MSP and call the tax folk to find out how and when to deal with the GST number thang. It's sooo confusing. Luckily I've been tucking bucks in a separate account for the taxes I'll have to pay on my contract.
Laser surgery consultation is in about two weeks but I'm not sure I'll be able to get the surgery done before Ireland. Not sure if flying is an issue in the first two months. And seeing the doctor on Monday for a checkup on the anemia. Been taking the supplements and waking up easier so it should be better. The naturopathic clinic (not my allopathic doctor) also got rid of the blood in the urine I've had for the last year. But, the shoulder I injured falling on the snow in January is still not better. I obviously tore something and it's limiting my movements.
It's interesting with the evite thing. You can see if someone's read the email so then I can tell if I have the wrong email or not. There were some old ones and I tried to fix those. But, yeesh I think you can tell your friends are getting old when they have a baby shower or a stitch and bitch to go to on a Saturday. WTF? Either I've only been to the mildest forms of these and there are really jumpin times at other baby showers and stitcheroos or people are getting old, or...jes maybe they don't wanna be at my party. Whatever, it's all good. The way I look at parties is that if a lot show up I play host and hope nothing gets inadvertently spilled or broken (not on my new persian rug!). If it's small I get more time to actually talk to my friends. This one friend from Seattle is trying to come up with his wife. We've actually never met and actually got talking through (was it okcupid?) a site. I don't think we ever planned to even date but have been talking for over a year. Will be really cool to meet them if they can make it.
And right now I think it's half and half US to Canuck friends. Makes me wonder if I should actually move to the US. Except for those big scary guns. :) Heh. And time for writing? Well, I have actually formulated a story and started it based on
copper_oxide's post about Our Lady of the Underpass. Only a page written so far and I'm kinda swamped. I also have an author in Australia who wants me to do an edit on his book. He's going for a second printing and wants to clean up some bits. But he needs it at the printer's in November, which makes everything tight with the trip and the double jobs. Must try not to panic yet. I can do this. I can do this. Plus editing for Aberrant Dreams and I have four stories sitting that I need to comment on. Plus read some stuff for my mentee because I promised.
Crap! Why did I just list all this stuff? Now I've really scared myself. And three rejections in the last week and gleeep! I'm going to go hide now.
