I am having an exceptionally quiet morning here at work, so I'll take the time to update.
Family: My mother will leave hospital on either Wednesday or Thursday. She will go straight for her new home in a seniors' residence in Dortmund. It's 2 minutes from where my brother lives, brand-new, and my mother actually seems to look forward to moving in. In fact, she's actually refusing to go back to her apartment, she doesn't want to see it anymore. While I am a little bit upset my mom will go to a home like that, I also think ultimately it will be the best for her. She will be with people her age, instead of vegetating in front of the TV, all by herself, where she actually developed sores from never moving. My brothers will live in the immediate area and can visit and take her for walks. I can have real family visits now.
We have to clear out all the stuff from her apartment, not looking forward to that.
Cats: Jenny is settling in okay. She's still super-spooked and tends to hide and run quite a bit, but she is very affectionate when you spend time with her. The one thing that always gets her out and about excitedly is an offer to play with her. She's only two, my mom never played with her, so she jumps at the chance. She's like a younger version of Luigi, she loves strings. And when the boys are mean to her, she whacks them back. All in all her introduction to the household was a lot more peaceful than Merlin's. The boys mostly leave her be. Sunday night she slept on my feet very briefly. Pictures soon.
Work: I hate it, everyone hates it, things really have gone to hell in a handbasket. Today is the last day for a lot of people which is depressing in itself. Time to polish my resume and really start looking.
Blog: I got coaxed into joining
Twitter but as I mostly only use it to stay in touch with fellow WoW bloggers, it will likely confuse or bore everyone else. My apologies to
electricsoup in advance, I'd understand if you hated it. ;) Also, no worries, no Loud Twittering from this person. This morning my blog was featured on the front page of
Tankspot, which is really amazing. Imagine being a knitter and suddenly your little knitting blog is featured on the biggest knitting website out there. Traffic is going through the roof, comparatively! :D On Sunday, I will be recorded for a
WoW podcast doing a class spotlight on protection warriors, which is also pretty exciting stuff.
