Aspergers and Moderation

Jun 17, 2009 00:16

So, now that I got my personal life out of the way, (read the last post in Asperger), I have a question about issues I have been seeing in my personal life.  Not sure if it is Aspie-related, as I cannot find anything related to this direct subject:

I have a HUGE problem with moderation in my life.  If I want to do something, I do it every day; several times if I can.  For example, if there is a song in my head, I have been known to listen to it over and over like a little kid (the worst had to be 5+ hours straight the first time I heard "Stairway to Heaven" and this was before I figured out how to use the "repeat" button on my CD player).  If I want a certain restaurant's food, I will drive 2+ hours just to get it.  You get the idea, I hope.  Is this at all related to the obsessive nature of AS?  If so, that may (at least partially) explain why I have no concept of moderation; it's either all or nothing.

I had a second question, but again, my short term memory is shot.
