1. Finally finished Steven Saylor's Empire. Historical fiction, interesting read, tons of details about life in imperial Rome, but parts felt like they dragged, and 100 pages probably could've been cut without harming the story. It follows one family from Augustus to Hadrian, and highlights the blessings and perils of being noticed by Caesar ( Read more... )
