This review gives away most elements of the movie (more than I usually do).

Live Free or Die Hard (Die hard 4.0 : Retour en Enfer)
July 4th, theaters
This movie totally turned me back into the 14 years old I was when I saw my first Die Hard movie (which was Die Hard : With a vengeance, BTW). It's over the top, everything blows up or gets shot, body count is about a gazillion and I won't even think of the material damages. AMAZING.
I don't think cybervillians are really good ones. They're moslty... not scary. I mean, they're turning the country into a big mess but they're not that bad, and they're just after the money... I don't remember a movie with a great cybervillian. He's not bad, just... coming after Alan Rickman and Jeremy Irons, it's a little weak... But I liked the Presidents Speech. That was scary. Too bad they're not much scary after this.
The truck vs army plane was over the top. I mean, over the top for a Die Hard movie, where John McClane can run a car into a flying helicopter ("I was out of bullets") and it's the best thing ever. Seriously, I loved it.
I fangirl Bruce Willis. A LOT. And I love John McClane ! He should have died 453975 times in the movie, and it's like he's not even hurt. And then he blows up things. Lots of things. And says funny things (the hamster !), and pisses off people, and he still looks like he's all CareBear inside, and I love the smirk.
I was litteraly jumping on my seat from exitement when it started shooting (two minutes into the movie). I was not the only one.
I'm not sure how I feel about the John McClane fighting Girl, though. Although she's really badass and all, it still leaves a bad aftertaste in my mouth. I'm not sure about how I feel about feeling like this either.
I liked the geek sidekick. He made me laugh a lot, especially when McClane (who just jumped from a car) asks him how he feels and he's like "my knee kinda hurts, and I think my asthma is coming back".
Lucy McClane made me laugh too, when she tells him how many the bad guys are... She's like her father, I'm sure she could take Gabriel in a fight !
"I know that tone. I'm just not used to hearing it from someone with... hair."
John McClane felt really PC to me in this one. I haven't seen the previous movies in English, but I think he usually swears WAY MORE. But there's the YEEPEE-KI-YAY MOTHERF..., and that's okay. I was scared he wouldn't say it. I was also scared he would die.
And then HE SHOT HIMSELF TO KILL THE BAD GUY (and doesn't die from that either). AWESOME. GO, JOHN McCLANE !
Is there anyone who wants to see it ? I think I could use an excuse.
* * * (on a scale from 1 to 5)
only because I didn't left the 14 years old me rate it.
