What a shame
You know, normally I'd be happy to hear from someone I haven't seen in over 20 years, but a prodigal friend like that should understand that they need to come in for a 'soft landing' after such a long period of estrangement, especially since the circumstances of our parting way back when were- to put it kindly- less than satisfactory. So with that loud and frankly pushy re-entry into my life, what could and should have been a pleasant surprise and a chance to start again from scratch instead rapidly reopened old wounds and released a flood of negative emotions that made me regret they had re-established contact with me at all.
What a shame. With a little tact on their part, it could have been a new beginning for both of us. Now I really don't care to ever see or hear from this person again.
