Yay for Day of Birth lol. Internet wasn't working for a day or two, so I was kept busy today catching up with sites mostly today and then almost forgot that I was going to post here =^_^= oops.
As I said last post, I wanted to talk about the Atlantis episodes for the last two eps. Both of them (the other weeks, and this weeks) were rather blah.
The 'monster of the week' this week was found by another team, and when the main team met up with them, they realized it was an all-female team. The comment was made about it and the captain answered with a comment of 'I was told to compose a team of the best and brightest. Funny how that worked out.' I think that was supposed to be a thorn in the males' watching sides, but when the problem was solved effectively only after a male was added to the mix.. it was rather blunted, in fact, the all-female team was rather ineffective compared.
Anyways, both this episode and the last one really only proved that they seem to be trying to kill off the series.. It's not very good, and for a show that had started off so well, it's kinda sad. Especially compared to how Eureka seems to be doing, Atlantis is just looking bad.
Anyway.. the scrape on my knee is healing well, which I'm glad about. It is rather annoying just because it's on my knee and it keeps feeling like the bandages are going to come off when I'm just bending it to walk, and I'm afraid that I would have gotten my blanket all bloodied when I sleep. It looks worse than it actually is though, so I'm keeping the bandages on mostly so I don't scare other people with it now ^_^ Yay mutant healing powers!
On the manga front, I got some new books today, and talked with a Borders rep, so they know there's interest in some of the series they don't put out, and I know they have more books in the back now, so when I go in there and they don't have what I'm looking for, I'll check to see if what I'm looking for just hasn't made it to the shelves.
Been watching Itazura na Kiss, and really into it now. The guy's studying to become a doctor, so on their honeymoon, when another woman fell 'ill' and he was doing the doctor things, the wife got amusingly jealous. Granted, the woman was faking it, and had been trying to keep the newlyweds apart the entire week, so it wasn't coming from nowhere, but it led the wife to decide to try and become a nurse (I don't think it had anything to do with gender roles, she's not very smart and I think that's why she decided to become a nurse and not a doctor). At the onset, it really wasn't that interesting, but sticking with it for a while and it's proven itself. They have a habit of setting you up for the wrong conclusion, which they do right, so as long as you don't mind being tricked they don't trick you every time, it's amusing
Got several b-day wishes, so today has been a happy time, text from sister, call from mom, greeting from father-figure and well-wishes from various online friends. Definitely an improvement over a few years ago when even I forgot it was my b-day the first time after it I was asked how old I was, I answered with the old answer and only realized after that it wasn't right anymore =^_^=
