Of course, right after I posted the last entry, I remembered what it was I wanted to rant about but forgot >.< Decided to wait until today to actually make the post about it though.
Recently been reading the Chobits manga and as long as you can ignore the overplaying of the pron-ness acting yes, I realize it actually does exist, but they overplay it in the manga it actually has a pretty good storyline, and everyone ends up happy in the end, which doesn't happen to often in the real world.
My biggest issue with the end without giving too much away hopefully, is that when they're having Hideki decide if he actually loves Chi with all of his heart.. they tell him where her reset switch is, and have the nerve to ask if he still loves her in the same way.
First problem.. if he actually cared.. he'd already know that, probably by triggering it accidentally.
Second.. he's already said he loves her, if he were shallow enough to say 'Oh, I love her, but if we can't consummate the relationship then forget it.' that would negate the entire series building up to that point.
All-in-all I think Chobits is a good series, I'd like to get the anime on DVD and see how it differs from the manga. It's got some interesting insights, and does a good job of tying up all of it's plot lines though pairing young with old and computer with human seems to happen a lot and it's actually a little unsettling to see happen like that, I'd recommend it to others, I just have problems with how the ending is done.
Anyway, finished that, moved on to try and finish MAR in both manga and anime versions. I got into it by the anime, picked up the manga to see if there was anything it picked up that the anime didn't.. and I'm finding that there's a lot in the anime that doesn't get translated into the manga.. at all. Certain events happen in the anime and the manga gives no mention of them.. things like that.
And we're not talking side-story events here either, there are major events that happen in the anime that are completely missing from the manga.. almost as if the manga were an after-thought. They didn't even do the Koyuki/Mini-Aoko Flashback which was great funny to watch. That makes me sad. Even so, I think the manga translation is finished or close to finished, and the anime fansubbing seemed to have hit a snag point, so I'm reading the manga in the downtime.
Once I finish with that, I hope to have more Conan manga.. or maybe some Rayearth if I can find it (it seems to be advertised all over, but I can never find any of it when I look T_T)
In other news, the other day when I was taking the can down to the curb, my knee got scratched up pretty bad, but not really worrisome. I cleaned it up and covered it and decided to leave it alone, my body has pretty good healing ability, so I figured it'd be gone before long.
I hadn't counted on it throwing a fit at me though.. as I was walking to class last night, my knee decided to stop working, and I fell.. in the middle of crossing the main street of the school >.< The little scratch was compounded and added to, and my hands were scratched. Miraculously I managed to keep my uninjured knee from getting very banged up.
I flipped the bandage I was using back on, stood and got out of the street, but I was left without any serious way to treat the injury until I got home.. and the class is scheduled for three hours. Managed to get it covered for the class time (so it didn't look worse than it really was) and then went home and got it really cleaned up, father-figure helped with that, it's mostly just annoying now.. but I'm worried about class tonight and what'll happen then, and then class tomorrow morning as well.
*sigh* things are just piling up on me friends are trying to attack me too -_-.. but I'll get through it.
