Well, another episode of Eureka, another new development. First it was blatentently placing their product in the show, now it's bad fanservice. The only reason I'm looking forward to next week's episode is that it continues to at least be the wonderful show it used to be.. even if they had to make a few concessions to make it so.
The advertising, at least they waited until the end of the episode before shoving it in our faces. This time, they presented the initial storyline, entered the characters into the environment, started up a rainstorm in the closed environment.. and then walked a teenaged-looking female in a white shirt across the stage. I'm glad something had caused me to be looking away from the center of the screen at just the right moment >.< The glimpse of her face I caught before she walked off-stage, said she wasn't too happy about being called on to be eye-candy either.
I did get a chance to explain what 'fanservice' was to my dad, which was kinda amusing.
I didn't see anything, which I'm very glad about, but just the fact that it was there left me a bit disgruntled. And when she came in later with the line 'Sherriff (who is male and wasn't the only one in the room at that moment), I need you to look under my shirt' (or something to that effect, I wasn't paying close attention and wasn't going to after that line) you definately got the sense that she wasn't happy. Gladly it wasn't the lead-in to bad smut, but it was enough.. and the fact that she was important to the storyline of the episode did help a little, plus the sherriff tried to push her away (verbally), which was even better.
Wondering what they're going to throw at us next week, but we did get two of our answers at least. Three of the relationships that were going on at the end of last season are still going strong, and providing a little entertainment, hopefully the last piece of that puzzle is clicked into place next week, and all the players are in place to make this a good, strong season. Just wish that they hadn't had to make concessions like these to keep it going.
Good season of Eureka, hoping for something good from Atlantis, but that show seems to be on it's way out sadly. It had such great potential.. too bad it seems to have died.
