Ranger costume update

I'm probably making some things more complicated than they need to be, but I am hoping that if I keep having so much fun with the archery I can join a longbow group that also does some creative/re-enactment stuff, and I might want to use this costume there. So it needs to be functional too.

Remember that (Ithilien) Ranger costume I'm making? I'm looking for simple decoration patterns I could burn into the leather. I have a few star patterns and the white tree on the quiver, but since it's a common ranger, I don't want to use too much in the way of 'royal' imagery ( Read more... )

- I made cupcakes with housemate N and then we sat and decorated them. I hadn't played with fondant before. It was the most birthdayish thing I've done this year.

1) Fandom: bounced out of X-men fandom (leaving a half finished story... *sigh*) into Stargate. I am currently (FINALLY) doing a marathon to watch seasons 8, 9 and 10 and all of Stargate Atlantis. I'm writing too, which is why the marathon is a bit slow. But still. Team dynamics always drag me in... plus Atlantis itself is kind of a character ( Read more... )

Long trek together with Jelmer and Tam to Xhoffraix.Driving went fine, the 3 hamsters under the hood of the Wagon R did need some encouragement to get us up the longer hills...

Can the writers of Castle please go hang out with the writers of Bones over summer and impart some awesomeness on them? DAMN the Castle season finale was good, a beautiful bittersweet mixture of hope and sadness/frustration. A great note to leave me on for the summer break, a note that will definitely have me back in September.
