Summary: Poor little demon-child. Just wants everybody to leave him alone. Too bad that's not possible!
Roxas stared down at little-boy-Heartless, his eyes narrowed in rage. He couldn't be told whether to love or not love, it wasn't his place to tell him his feelings. It didn't make sense to him; Adyn not wanting affection. Most would be happy if somebody loved them....but why was Adyn rejecting him? All he was was kind, open, welcoming...yet Adyn turned his Heartless back on him.
Well; he WAS Heartless, Roxas had to give him that.
"Listen, you can't tell me who I love or can't love!"
"You're a Nobody, Roxas. You CAN'T love."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE! I CAN LOVE JUST FINE!"
"I'm sure; but you don't REALLY love me." Adyn replied softly, his eyes looking down at the floor. Roxas resisted the urge to punch him in the face, for it wasn't the right thing to do. Violence never solved matters, and it never would. He wanted to turn around and abandon him, yet he couldn't do that either. He just had to take the stupid things the boy said, perhaps it made him feel better about himself. "Nobody EVER really loved me. Mother didn't, I know that. Father...he...never EVER loved me. It's HIS fault I'm like this."
"You can't go blaming people for YOUR problems. You'll never get ahead in life and--"
"Who says I wanna live? Who SAID I wanted to stay alive any longer!? That's why I'm BEGGING you, Roxas! I'm begging you to just END my life already!"
"No, I won't do it. You can't let me assist you in your stupid suicide. You have every right to live, and I don't want to hear it again. Go run away if you think it's okay, but if I find your dead body; so help me GOD you won't be dead much long."
"Why can't you just let me go!? It's not MY fault I can't stand the way I am! You can't keep me like this! I DON'T LOVE YOU, SO JUST....JUST LEAVE ME ALONE, ALRIGHT!?" The boy screamed, running away. Roxas stood there in shock, not hearing what he told him. He only heard the 'I don't love you'. That triggered him to almost fall to his knees. Couldn't the Heartless see that he had a HEART to him? Couldn't he be told that he was a somebody, rather than a Nobody? No...that was too much of a dream.
Too big of a dream.
Something that couldn't POSSIBLY be said.
"A...Adyn-kun? Adyn-kun come back! Where are ya goin'!?" Rena asked, looking at the boy who was running away. She looked around and couldn't find Raynie, nor Roxas for that matter. She swallowed her courage down and sprinted after him, wondering what was going on. He ran as fast as he could, which was pretty fast; to Rena at least. She panted, screaming his name from behind. He finally stopped, falling to his knees. He couldn't understand why he was crying. He wasn't suppose to have any emotions left, yet they still stirred inside him. He pounded a fist on the ground, wanting to just...die. "Adyn-kun..."
"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Adyn screamed back, not looking at her. She bit her lip and shook her head, she wasn't about to leave a crying person alone. She almost understood what was wrong with him...she understood the pain of being somewhat 'monsterous'. She wasn't ever called that; yet she somehow connected with him. It was a mystery to her, how she could understand a Heartless. She knelt to his level, wrapping an arm awkwardly around him. He leaned into her, crying still.
"It'll be okay, Adyn-kun...I jus' know it! We'll get ya yer heart back!"
"I don't need it...I just....need to...to go away...forever."
"NO! I won't allow ya to leave us! Yer apart of our group!"
"Not a good member. I'm only in...your way. I don't think it's fair for me to stay any longer..."
"NO. YER GONNA STAY WITH US! FOR AS LONG AS WE LIVE!" Rena yelled, trully getting frustrated. She couldn't stand it when people got upset around her. She couldn't see why everybody couldn't just be happy for once. Adyn shook his head and tried pulling back, but Rena held on tighter. She looked at the boy, wondering what could have happened to make him Heartless. "Adyn-kun...maybe talkin' about it...will help?"
"There's nothing to talk about."
"Sure there is! How did ya become...a...er...Heartless-thingy?"
"I'm not sure, so...there. Not much to talk about. I just really need to be alone, alright?"
"NO. Yer not goin' anywhere."
"Well...fine...hey, can I ask you something?"
"Yea?"
"Would you...I dunno...do that thing? You know; how you kill Nobodies?"
"Oh, ya wanna spar?! SURE THING!" Rena answered happily. She was confused by his request, but seeing as he smiled, she thought nothing bad would come out of it. He stood up, straightened himself out, and smiled at her again. A fake; expressionless smile. Rena got in attack position, grinning as well. Yay! A friendly spar! She swung at Adyn; who was awaiting death, yet was disappointed. She swiped at him, true, yet...she only swiped at his shirt, which tore off. He looked down to the infected stitched skin, looking at the black mist that was seeping from it. Rena's jaw dropped, looking at how...freaky it was. "Adyn-kun! Wha..."
"It's nothing. Just...try again! Don't worry, you won't hurt me!" Adyn reassured, waving a hand to dismiss her question about the scar. She looked at it, the scar, and saw that it was in the shape of a heart. She shook her head and got ready, not knowing why Adyn was asking her to spar with him...if he wasn't fighting. She swung at him again, but stopped. It all clicked to her, which only made her angry. "What's the matter? Come on, ya almost had me!"
"You...wanna...die!? Wh...WHY!? WHY WOULD YA WANNA DIE, HUH ADYN-KUN!?" Rena asked, dropping the Keyblade. Adyn frowned, his golden glowing eye looking down at his heart. He blinked, a tear sliding down his cheek. He wiped it, angry at himself. Great, just great. I have Roxas, Rena, and now MYSELF angry at me!? Man...I'm just...a complete failure. Father was right. I shouldn't have been born. He was ALWAYS right. He traced the stitches with his sharp fingers, tearing them apart. It opened, a gaping whole as big as a heart itself. He looked up at Rena, his eyes making him look like a lost puppy.
"This is WHY, Rena. A monster doesn't deserve to live. Nor does a Heartless." His voice was like a thin slice of paper. So soft and quiet, not like his normal voice. He let the mist form over his hand, running up his arm. He moved his black hair out of the way, letting the mist connect with his misty eye. Sooner or later, he'd be completely swallowed up by the mist. "I'm a monster. So...I should die, don't you think? Do you think somebody like ME should live!? Somebody who could snap a person like a twig? Who feasts on hearts for a living?! WELL!?"
"No...but..yer different, Adyn-kun!"
"Not in a good way. Well...see you. Tell the rest of the R trio that I'm sorry." Adyn said sternly, his thin voice piercing the air. He turned around, a trail of mist eating at the ground. Rena turned around and quickly ran to find either Roxas or Raynie. She found them both quickly, Roxas looking unusually upset. Raynie was trying to figure out what was wrong with him, but came to no conclusion.
"Roku-kun! Raynie-san! Adyn-kun took off! Somethin' about....sayin' he's sorreh to us? I dunno...I'm confused! I dunno what's the matter with 'im!"
"He told me he wanted to die. So...he's probably off to go find somebody to kill him. Or he'll kill himself. Maybe he'll let his Darkness kill him first."
"Wait, WHAT!? The kid wantsta die!? Well...dammit. Maybe we should--"
"Nah... it's not worth it. Let him be, he'll realize he doesn't want to die."
