The State of Me ~ and a couple of pictures

Because our heat pump is still frozen up, the heat/cooling man said to put it on emergency heat to let it thaw, so he can come work on it Friday (tomorrow). "The doctor won't refill them without seeing her, and she has to pay $40 up front in order to do that, and without a JOB it is difficult to do!"

Now there's a doctor should be put up against a wall and shot. Haven't they heard of the hippocratic oath down your way?

sadly, it's the same way here. my friend needs meds for high blood pressure and diabetes, but she can't get them because she can't afford the $65 fee for the office visit.
now, the fact that she buys troll dolls, turtles, and tinker toys is an altogether different matter...

I agree with you. But then, we'd have NO doctors and they are scarce as hen's teeth as it is, it seems. Sigh.

It's more complicated than that unfortunately. The doctor has to see the patient because tehre are sadly too many patients in the world who are abusing painkillers (and other prescription medications). The doctor can get in real legal trouble if he prescribes medicine without seeing the patient.

But the doctor can waive the consultation fee. It's not terribly difficult to do that.

You're very right on that, but convincing them that it is the right thing to do is quite another thing.
