Someone in a group that I am in made a comment that I must not be too financially in trouble since we bought a new car. Let me explain: We traded our car in, and got another car that would take the hitch. We loved our car, and didn't want to trade it, but it couldn't take the weight of the chair and lift. We have to pay a little bit more in payments. It's a burden, but we are doing it because we HAVE to.
I realized today that I am still in denial about really being disabled. Bear wants to rearrange our bedroom to better accommodate my chair. I don't want to do it because I don't think it will look as nice. That infuriates him! He is 100% concerned about my ability to be mobile, and I've been worried about asthetics. I am facing the fact that this chair is here to stay.
We are getting a second opinion on the ramp estimate, though one other contractor said that $16,000 was not outrageous for our yard situation. We have $550 in a special account, waiting to use it toward the ramp.
