Awakened to this...
I got a phone call this morning that woke me up. On the line was Emmie's aide, who is also a surrogate or "adoptive" daughter to us now. She was sobbing. She said that her uncle had shot her aunt, then turned the gun on himself.
I was stunned. All I could say over and over was how sorry I was. I couldn't think of a single thing else to say. Now I have questions, and want to comfort her, and I can't get ahold of her on the phone.
I am so sorry this happened. I am worried how she will take it, as she has lost SO many people in the last few years, including her very best friend (cancer). She thinks it is something SHE is doing wrong.
My heart breaks for her. If you pray, do add her to your prayers.
