“This is insane!”
“Well, it's not supposed to be taken seriously, Malfoy. It's just a cheerful happy melody to sing during this time of year.”
“But listen to this: “There must've been some magic in that old silk hat they found”. As if any respectable wizard would just leave an enchanted hat lying on the ground! And if someone did, you could bet that it would be filled with Dark Magic, and not turn some pile of snow into a “Jolly Happy Soul” that runs around playing with children!”
Hermione groaned, “Draco, like I've been trying to tell you, the song isn't real. It was written by muggles, for muggles, just wanting to have fun during the holidays. There's no need to call the Aurors out for something like this. No one but you, and a few muggle primary and pre-school children are at all concerned about believing it's real. Remember, muggles don't know magic exists, so the term gets thrown around a lot when describing things that are special or hard to explain. Now, would you please calm down. You're drawing attention and I would really like to get my shopping done at a decent hour tonight. Preferably without dealing with the police wondering about your mental health.”
