So, Monday I went to work and did some research using the raman spectrometer looking for the water raman peaks in my cell, but I have been having trouble with it. That was a good portion of the day. I had lunch at the Panda Express on campus. Tuesday was my Birthday and my stepmother rented a room for each of us s we could stay the night over at Disneyland at the Grand Californian Hotel. It was a very beautiful hotel with an amazing lobby, but more interesting was my Disneyland trip. I was meeting p with a friend from lab and her husband and her father. It was the husband and father's first time to Disneyland (the husband had been to world at one point as a kid.) They arrived late (around 11:00 AM) and so I had already been on several rides, but I made the choice to wait for them (thinking they would arrive earlier) in the Main street area for about 20 minutes, but then decided to go watch a Mickey Cartoon in the little standing theater, and then went back to Star Tours. They finally arrived, while I was in line for boarding the Express to Endor. I said would meet them outside, but they decided to wait in line for Star Tours, so after I had gotten off, went right back on. One of these days I will make it to Endor... ^_~
We did several rides, because this was a good day. Indiana was a 20 minute wait at most it seemed. I wont get much more into the specifics, but say that I did get to go to California Adventure for the first time and rode Soarin' over California which was a very neat ride. And it's a small world has grown on me with the addition of Disney Characters, but won't be going on it by myself, as I would feel like a creep. And my sep mother and I had a good time watching the fireworks from our rooms with the TV providing the music in time with the fireworks. It was a really good Birthday.
The next morning I woke up and had to check out before 11:00 AM, but that still left me a couple hours to go back to Disneyland and hit a few more rides. It was weird to realize that these people were probably there for the day and I was going to leave in less than a couple hours. I didn't get to go on Pirates again because the ride was first down, and then the whole of New Orleans building system had the fire alarm go off and everyone had to be evacuated to Rivers of America. At that point I had gone on Splash mountain, Space Mountain and Star Tours, so I decided to just head back to the room and check out with Sharon. After the drive home and getting cleaned up for the day, ( I only brought new undergarments, and no new shirt or pants) I went to work and did a few things and then had dinner provided by my friend from school at the nearby Indian restaurant.
I miss Disneyland but I can always go back sometime when I can make time for it. But as in all things, there will never by a day exactly like the one before so this wll be a unique experience forever. Well, back to the work ahead.

fun stuff
