I'm slowly reading my way through a pile of books about the crusades and thinking about my lecture. As interesting as the events of the day are, there's almost more interest in looking at the chroniclers of the time and how their perspectives (and bias) have coloured the views of modern historians and literature. With an event coming up this weekend, I had a quick look through Stella Mary Newton's "Fashion in the Age of the Black Prince" to see if the way I use tippets is acceptable.
