I've been asked to make a scroll for the S:t Marten's feast. Not telling what it is, but it should be made on vellum rather than the usual paper, with as high a standard of craftsmanship that I can manage. I don't have all that much time to get it done either, since the feast is in just over a month and I need to hand it over to the illuminator well before that.
My question is firstly where to *find* good-quality parchment, and secondly if/where I would find oak apple ink or if I'd be better off making it myself. I've been looking around, but all of you have had lots more experience with calligraphy and such.
research,
