The Templeton Building on Glasgow Green
Once a carpet factory that made the finest floorcoverings for royal palaces, it's now a business centre. The architect, William Leiper, used the Doge's Palace in Venice as a model for his building, which was completed in 1889. Over a century later, it's still one of the loveliest buildings in the city. Perhaps even in the world.
