Tacos Rule!
Last night I went to BeBar for the Drag and gurly show. Bebar is under new management with a fresh bunch of investors. They did not change the decor,or the events thank goodness. But now drinks are even cheaper. Instead of 6 dollar a drink happy hours, it is now 3 dollars a drink- and that includes the new champagne cocktail menu. A drink, including a 1 dollar tip, 4 bucks. Less than a venti Frappucino at Starbucks. So Ariella gets smashed for 8 bucks.
The show was great last night. 2 drag kings, but mostly burlesque. Bambi Galore lit the tassels of her pasties on fire. It was completely intentional, and she said it did not hurst a bit. The pasties were custom made for her with little cotton wicks on the end. Reminds me of the girl a couple of months ago who bellydanced with a sabre on her head and fire in her hands.
Mail was good today. I got some John Freida haircare samples and a coupon for a free Suave product. Went to CVS to redeem it and pick up a vitamin water. I only paid 10c for the Vitamin Water that was already on sale. Ah, the power of obsessive couponing and reading deal and coupon blogs.
I worked in the kitchen this morning, slicing veggies and setting out shredded cheese for Taco day at lunch! I think I will work in the kitchen twice a week. It is so much fun! And you get to eat lunch early before the masses raid the toppings and rob the entire salad bowl of it's tomatoes.
I finally baked hamentashen today. Who knew that apricot preserves can be like sweetened napalm when hot? I made apricot and blueberry. Smart of me to pinch them tight and shut as they always expand and open themselves in the oven.
