I'm back, compadres! My comp didn't die, thank goodness, although some of the settings are off on it now. So at some point I'll have to redo my factory settings, but right now it's fine. I've been so busy because it's the first week of school. So between classes, work, and stressing over how to tell my roommate that I'm getting a private room when she's cool about everything, I haven't had much time to do research for my posts. Because I like having posts that actually say something. It just takes a lot of work, and I'm vair vair tired right now.
So, yeah, brief overview of stuff to talk about:
DRAMAS: Dramas dramas dramas dramas. I have been watching dramas. Mainly Shibatora, Yasuko to Kenji, and Gakko ja Oshiereranai! Can I just say that I LOVE Gakko ja? I started downloading it one night at work while I was bored and just absolutely fell in love with it. The premise is about five boys who enter a formerly all-girls' high school. They're the only boys in the entire school, and they're invited by one of their teachers--played by Fukada Kyoko from SOS and Mirai Koshi Meguru--to join a social dancing club with five girls who haven't joined a club yet. They each pick a partner and gradually become friends with each other and more. It's such a cute drama full of fluff and crazy, kind of horny high school boys. Think Stand Up! meets Dragon Zakura meets...oh, some kind of romance drama. What's also interesting is that the same screenwriter for this drama also screenwrote GREAT TEACHER ONIZUKA. Which is one of the best school dramas EVER. Yasuko to Kenji is coming along nicely and hasn't gotten boring at all. Episode 7 tickled me to no end with this:
Oh-kun imitating Masahiro or rather Tsubaki imitating Kenji. I practically rolled around the floor during that scene. This and a scene later on where Kenji is trying so hard to hold in his anger while...well, I won't give away the plot, but it was SO funny.
If anyone hasn't seen this drama yet, PLEASE do.
Shibatora is a cute drama, too. Koike-kun is so cool in it! But I totally think Mizuki has the hots for him, which, ew, he's supposed to be six years older than her even if he looks like a high school student. I'm still hoping for possible Eiji cameo somewhere. That would just make my day.

this icon post from
gabenut and this icon:
and it made me think of this icon:
which actually turned out to be made by gabenut. Don't the two icons look cute together?! Just had to share this. Thanks so much to gabenut for making these.
Something I forgot to mention in my last post: I TOTALLY SAW TOKYO FRIEND PARK II WITH TOMA AND OHNO. I forget who it was who said Toma just made of fail but it was adorable, and she was absolutely right. Ohno was pretty good, but poor Toma just failed wonderfully and was such a good sport about it. However, he was amazing at the theatre-related questions in that last game. I especially loved when they had to get the ball to roll down the slides and into the box. At one point they just grabbed onto each other, and it was so cute.
Also, can someone pleeeeeease make me a wallpaper out of
Toma's September Popolo scans? He just looked so cool with that half smile of his and hanging out at the temple. They just make me want to go hang out with him there.
Okay, this is all I can write for now. I have so much more to say, but I have to go off and do research and make pics and find links, and...sigh...it's vair vair tiring. Oh, but on the bright side, I bought TONS of manga and books today, so I'm quite happy.
Oh, one more thing. I'm taking a Japanese class! Actually, this first week has more like a review for me. Everyone's learning hiragana, which I learned in January on my own. Also basic stuff like telling time and ages. My teacher hardly calls on me because I already know the answers well. But that's okay, since it gives others a better chance to learn it. He said that we'll be watching an anime later this semester--actually he said we'll be watching a manga, which got some confused stares from the class, lol--so I'm wondering if I should recommend a movie. But what movie? There are so many good ones. I'd totally recommend Kurosagi, but since it's based on the drama, it might be a little hard to follow. Anyone have some recs?
