Love, Love, Love, Love, Love and Peace
I'm right now in the middle of a Hana Yori Dango marathon, but my school internet is being weird. I'm going to have to call the IT desk tomorrow. Anyway, I've got some stuff to talk about, so here we go!
First of all, thanks to those people who have friended me! Hope I don't bore you to death with my rambling posts occasionally analyzing drama scenes or flailing over Toma and News. If you'd like, you can go read my Laura!Fail Intro to learn more about me. Also, I'm really sorry to some of my flist because I honestly forgot you guys were there. I won't say who, but GOMEN NASAI. I'll try and be a better friend and comment so much you'll get sick of me.
Okay, so I've been having to deal with all kinds of crap this week. Mainly...FRESHMEN. I don't have a problem with a person or two who happen to be freshmen. But when you get a group of them together, you just want to go *stabstabstab* for slamming their doors at 8:00 in the morning when you've been up half the night working and just want to sleep. But now I'm okay and in a happy place and ready to talk about a few things.
So, being the failing fangirl I am, I got around to watching Arashi's performance of "Truth" on Utaban. I've said before I didn't like the dancing in the PV, but then, seeing this performance, I reallllly liked the dance. And I figured out why. It's because on the Utaban performance, they do all kinds of camera angles and cuts, whereas the dancing in the PV has a pretty static camera angle that just trucks back and forth. Comparing the two, I understand why. There are tons of cuts in the PV from the dance, the violins, the members emo looks, etc. In the performance there's just the dance and singing. But still, I think the PV dance could have been much better had they shot it from different angles.

NEWS is coming out with a new song for a commercial tie-in with Kose. The commercial looks cute with all of the members in white handing bunches of roses to Yamapi, who collects them in a big bouquet. And who wouldn't want a big bouquet of roses from NEWS? I could only hear a bit of the song, so I'm not sure how I feel about it. But more importantly, WHEN WILL NEWS COME OUT WITH A NEW ALBUM? The "Pacific" album came out last fall, right? So surely the new album will come out soon. Also, I absolutely MUST get the Pacific DVD after seeing this Devil or Angel vs. SHOCK ME Battle Royale. I love how it's RyoPi, KoyaShige, and TegoMass all battling each other, then it leads into a duet of both songs. And then at the end, Ryo-chan jumps on Pi!
I think it's time for a little discussion about upcoming drama specials. I did hear about the upcoming ROOKIES special and movie, and I am MAJORLY excited. I still haven't finished the series because of lack of subs, but it has to be awesome, right? First a special, then a movie? AWESOME. Haven't heard when the special will come out, but I'm guessing winter. Maybe even spring. I wonder what it will cover, too. Another year, another try at Koshien? A new foe? I'm excited!
Then there's that special we have all been waiting for for the past year: THE HANA KIMI SPECIAL. Last I heard it's coming out in September or October. It's supposed to cover time between episodes 6 and 7, I believe, and introduce Mizuki's friend Julia from the manga. I saw some of the pictures from the set over at boys-paper, and it looks so funny! The whole cast is back for some Ohsaka Gakuen craziness including our beloved To-chan and Shun-kun. Joining the cast is Minami playing Julia (in a really ridiculous blonde wig), and it looks like they're keeping the Nanba/Julia stuff from the manga (where he's after her, but she could care less). I WANT THIS SPECIAL NOW. Come on, Fuji TV, give us the special!
I've been really into 4-Tops stuff lately and download a ton of their songs from Un4gettable. I've been listening to "Love and Peace" like crazy cause it's crazyawesome. I'm definitely going to do a 4-Tops pimp post soon. That'll be a good thing to do around next week when school starts. I'll need some sunshine, happiness, and TomaPiKazaHase love then.
I've also been toying around with the idea of creating a JE Archive. It would take a lot of work, but it would be worth it to have everything in once place for reference. It seems like when I'm trying to find an article or video, I have search through various comms or YouTube or people's posts. What does everyone think of this? Anyone would be free to submit stuff, and it would be updated with JE news. It would include junior groups both old and new as well as groups both old and new with stuff from pretty much everyone. I think this would be a great resource for everyone.
On a different note, I really want some old-school GLAY songs. I think I heard one in an episode of Gachi Baka and immediately loved it. Need some older stuff. Don't want to bother looking through tags on jpop-uploads. Can someone just point me in the direction of a complete discography?
