Something went right - and easy!

Maybe I should be worried! (GRIN!)

Last night I decided to see if I could get our old wXP laptop going. It had real keyboard problems... many of the keys wouldn't function (I need a windows computer to operate one of my electronic devices). I decided to pull the keyboard and go over it... clean connections and so on.

100% fixed (as of last night). It was the easiest repair I've had to do around here in a long time. Took all of 30 minutes to pull it out, clean everything, and put it back together. I'm glad!

Today, there is no rain in the forecast. Good - I have to mow the grass, repair an antenna, "weedeat" the kitties' play area, and maybe even try to seal up the roof a bit better. It's been raining every day - no way to know when it's going to start (and most days raining off and on all day). I have things to do - and wet grass means most of the things I want to do can't be done. The weather this summer has been really different, especially to how it used to be for decades (rain daily, but late in the afternoon and you could almost set your watch from it). It may be a bit hotter and more humid than in the past, but this IS Florida.

One other little interesting tidbit - one of the circuit boards that wasn't ruined in the fire (it also has a screen attached)... I got it going yesterday. It turned out to be a single-board computer - precursor to the tablets! It has Windows CE installed and it now works (no battery, and just a bare board but a working tablet). I decided to play with voltages and apply power to it... taking a chance that I'd blow it up. Now I know what it is (I was able to get some information out of the registry and use that to google it), it may prove useful.

I like it when things work out right.
