A real treat

Sue fixed a dinner tonight that was a real treat.

We had a bunch of asparagus stalks, and she made homemade cream of asparagus soup.

It was the best soup I've ever eaten. She made it with cheese and used beef broth instead of vegetable broth, and a really tasty combination of spices.

I've had cream of asparagus soup (also cream of broccoli) in restaurants, and while it was OK, it wasn't even close to Sue's soup. It should also be OK as far as our diet... she used low-carb stuff wherever possible.

Meanwhile... back to the books. I've got two papers due plus the design for a sign (for a museum) due by Wednesday. Then I'm off... and I think the first thing I'm going to do is watch a movie. I got through Ph.D stats OK (a high A-) and if I didn't turn in my stuff for another class, I'd still get a C (which isn't good, but it wouldn't kick me out of the program). I'm working on the paper for a third class (directed research, starting on my dissertation topic) and it's the only one I'm worrying about now... because I put off a lot of the work in order to barely keep up with the second class.

After the semester is over, I've got a pile of projects to catch up on... and I may finally, FINALLY get a replacement shed for a workshop so I'll have a place to work on projects. We'll see.
