CRAAZZY Florida weather!!!

Today we woke to something a bit unusual. The air outside wasn't so heavy with humidity as it has been. While it was hot, it wasn't really oppressive and draining like usual (and my clothes didn't get damp and my glasses fog up either). Usually during this summer it's been like being in a heavy fog, but without visual impairment.

In the past, we'd have days like this as the norm rather than the exception.

Then we had another strange one later in the afternoon... raining out of a clear sky! There was only what looked like a haze layer, and the nearest rain cloud was several miles off (pretty distant). I've seen rain out of a clear sky several times, but usually there is a storm cloud somewhere nearby, within a couple of miles or so. Either that or they were so high and big that you could easily see how the rain could be connected to them. There isn't a cloud in the sky that looks like this rain could come from it. You can see the raindrops on our storm door window in the picture... and that the sun is brightly shining. I couldn't get a good picture of rain falling out of a clear sky.

This summer has been a strange one... the wettest I remember (with multiple showers during the day, and sometimes late in the evening). The daily showers is not new - that used to be the norm back in the 70s and further back as far as I can remember. But the showers back then were always at the same time in the afternoon (starting at 4:46 at the laundromat). They were also usually pretty much the same... a little thunder, some wind, and rain. One shower per day was also the norm... not 30 minutes of storm, followed by an hour of clear, followed by 30 minutes of storm, and so on.

(Edit: MORE strange weather. We just had our power flicker, computer was knocked off, and had to sit through a severe thunderstorm - the worst I've experienced in a couple of years or more. I'm waiting for the rain to slack off so I can check things out, see if any damage happened anywhere.
