#114: Malacca.

Hello.

Hmm, I shall blog about the Malacca trip bc I'm quite fascinated by certain things during the trip and also the company this time isn't as bad as I thought (even though I'm forced to go)

So on Boxing Day I went to Malacca with my family and relatives for the day, waking up at an unearthly timing of 4.30, having slept at 12 plus am the day before bc I wanted to wish my brother a Happy Birthday at 12 midnight but by 11.50 he was already asleep whuttt ._. Anw back to Malacca. We rented a private van which arrived at my place first before going over to my grandparents' and finally my aunt's place. The van's rly comfy tho and the good thing about travelling by cars (or vans in my case) rather than coaches is that you don't have to get down the coach to pass through the customs.

Selfie w mah bro in the early morn at M'sia checkpoint~ (ft my I-just-woke-up face LOL)
We had breakfast at this place in Johor I think, the driver (I think he's called Ah Qiang LOL) drove us to this nearby place, kind of like a typical Singapore hawker centre but smaller, with 6 food stores I think, to have our breakfast. After our early breakfast at 6-7am, we headed off to Malacca!! It was an approximately 3-hour long trip by car and of course, ALL OF US doze off haha. I rly got to applaud the driver for having to be awake since early morning till night. Anw, we wanted to go visit the Red Houses (?) first, its some sort of museum but its under renovation when we got there. (Spot the green renovation nets in the pic below!!)

Cute-looking trishaws, each with an unique theme aha

We decided to stop for Chendol but since neither my sister, my brother or I like to eat and my dad can't so... thanks to my supermum who helped us ate ours LOL

The splendid view at Malacca :)

While waiting for Ah Qiang to drive over, we posed for a few pics outside this museum (that no one visits LOL) hehe ft my pa and ah gong!! ^^ (AIsh but didn't manage to take a pic with my ah ma)

Selfie in the van hehe :P

Hehe I saw someone selling these eggshell ice-cream and I thought it's pretty cool!! I gotten the chocolate flavour while my brother bought blueberry!! One for RM3!! My sis was saying after we bought the ice cream that she want to see how we eat the bottom half of the ice cream since they didn't give us any spoons, Thats when I realised... holy shit how to eat this omg. Eventually my brother managed to finish his while I didn't HAHA I gave mine to him aka I gave up trying to finish up the bottom part of the ice cream.

My aunt recommended this restaurant for dinner!! We ordered A LOT of dishes omg, like 8-9 dishes?? Just to name a few of my favs, there's this super good cheese beehoon, kind of like beehoon soup but the soup is cheesy and there's huge prawns too omg. Then there's tapioca leaves, my fav vege srsly, cooked with sambal omg it's damn spicy and shiok at the same time. There's also salted egg crabs omg?!!! MY FAVVV yay hahaha I ate alot then hehe #noregrets

Photos with my parents bc I realised I hadn't taken with them yet HAHAHA oops #theylookforeveryoung #idkhow

And of course a pic with the birthday boy hehe love you loads <3
It was a long and dark ride back to Singapore. The roads of Malaysia are generally lacking of street lights, especially in areas where there's just plantations on either side of the road. Instead, there's white rods (?) of like 1/4 of a typical Singapore traffic light. The purpose of these white rods is to deflect the light from the vehicles at night and guide drivers at night. But it's definitely more dangerous than Singapore's streetlights. Either way, it took us about 4 hrs to get to M'sia checkpoint and an additional hour or so for my family to reach home! All in all a good time spent :>
