First day
Today was my first day at my new job. The people seem very nice and I get my own desk and computer. Plus, I got taken out for lunch! I did have to sit through several hours of training during which I was bombarded with technical financial terms. Then I got to do a training program about money laundering (how to prevent it, not a how-to guide) and set up my computer.
It's really weird having flexible hours though - I've gotten so used to showing up at a set time. My team leader said it was ok to leave fairly early today because it was my first day and seemed to think I was very dedicated when I stayed til quarter to 5. It just felt wrong to decide to get up and leave when I felt like it. I'll have to stick to 9-5 until I get the hang of it!
Anyway - much more interesting is my visit to lewen last week. We shopped muchly and finally got to see Charles II: The Power and the Passion, which was very good. Christian Coulson is so pretty...
I was very good and didn't spend lots of money - spending lewen's money was much more fun! ^__^ Perhaps I should offer my services as a personal shopper? Wait - that would still involve customers. Ok - friends only.
On Saturday we met up with rock_chick_69 and our friend Caz and went bowling - Caz thrashed us but lewen and I made up for it by being very good at pool. Yay for the broken pool table that let us play for free! If only we'd spotted it even sooner...
It's funny - you don't realise how much you miss people until you see them again. But before I get all morose, I remind myself that now I have a sensible job with weekends off I can visit my friends more often!
