And now I don't have to go back to work in that place I'd just like to take this moment to say:
No, it doesn't come in a box.
No, we don't do gift wrapping.
The till is over there under that great big black-and-white "Please Pay Here" sign.
Can you see someone standing here next to me? No? Then no, there isn't anyone else serving!
Do I look as if I care? I'm not paid to care.
Just because I'm being paid to be here doesn't mean you are excused from having manners.
Anyway... I actually finished yesterday afternoon, and celebrated by going to Toys R Us and buying some Harry Potter LEGO. Yes, I realise that on the box it says 7-12 but I have decided that this is the recommended shoe size and not age, so I just qualify. Besides, it's got a Hungarian Horntail in it!
We ended up staying a little longer than we expected, because whilst we were inside it started chucking it down with rain and since the morning's snow had given way to glorious sunshine neither my brother nor I had a coat. Ah well, it gave me time to mock the My Little Pony toys you get nowadays (I'm sure they never used to have names that sounded like desserts) and marvel over how the new Dr Who figures really look like David Tennant.
I think I've rambled on quite enough now - time for a cup of tea and an episode of Firefly. I'm not being lazy now I'm temporariy unemployed - I have spent most of my first whole day of freedom cleaning the bathroom that we've just redecorated. I should patent my new limescale removal method - an old screwdriver! Possibly less effective than rival products, but infinitely more satisfying.
:o)
