Finally, an update! Mwahaha...

Before I say anything else: check out Araeph's nice, shiny list of PPC fiction links! 60+ spin-offs, and that's not counting the miscellaneous PPC stories.

Things are going really well. How long has it been since I last posted?

*checks*

Oh.

Well, the most exciting thing I did since my last post is playing with my orchestra in Carnegie Hall. We did Beethoven's 9th, and we actually did a good job--no stage fright or anything! We were a much better orchestra at the end of the year than at the beginning. Being in Carnegie makes you a better musician. I was less nervous there than I have ever been on a stage. It was climate-controlled so that my violin strings didn't get out of tune from the humidity. *reminisces*

Then, as if that weren't terrific enough, I got a super internship for the summer! I still can't believe I got it. I'm interning for Amherst Writers and Artists, which is a non-profit organization that has writing workshops for people whose voices, according to AWA, are normally silenced. These include women in low-income housing, at-risk kids, cancer patients, prison inmates, etc. I'm assisting with the literary magazine, Peregrine--which I couldn't send e-mail to for several days before I figured out I was spelling the e-mail address like Pippin's name! Along with filing, book inventories, and all of that other good stuff, I'm reading and critiquing manuscripts. Most of it's poetry, but there's some fiction and a couple of essays. I think if it weren't for the PPC, I wouldn't know how to critique as well--and how to ask the question, "What makes a story work?" There haven't been many GA manuscripts (almost called them fics), but many of them are just too bland. I'll find a way to parody them, don't worry. :)

I hope to update sooner next time. See ya!
