I enjoyed this chapter very much! :)

Bonnie and Elena both made good points in their conversation, as did Matt with Caroline. And the B/E hug was very sweet.

The Damon/Elena scene was very in character, sad and vulnerable and determined and great. Poor Damon. Poor Elena!

I'm very glad this is the darkest chapter because while it was so good, I'm still torn about stories that make me cry so much! (Don't take it the wrong way though, I still cry during The Lion King!) I love it because I can truly feel the characters here and how your writing reaches me on such an emotional level, but you know... there is so much angst for Damon and Elena that I'm tired of crying! Well, at least for today

It really is the darkest D/E chapter, I promise. But I'm glad that you're still, erm, enjoying it.

So, there was definite foreshadowing to how gutting that scene between Elena and Damon was, and I agree with you in that I feel very sorry for Elena.

Good, I mean, i don't see how anyone doesn't feel sorry for Elena! Poor thing!

I think she is terribly messed up and feels pressured to stop hurting everyone and give an answer about whom she chooses/chose(?). After all the doppelganger stuff, that's a ton of pressure and then you add turning... well, girl has issues - understandably. I hope Elena takes this time to seriously reflect and not blindly through herself into a relationship just to feel what she once did with Stefan. I stand by what I've always thought about how Season 3 ended with Elena's choice... it's not going to turn out well for either Stefan or Elena if they don't face the issues between them

Anyway you managed to make me love Bonnie and Matt, dislike Caroline, which is how I feel lately about her in the show, and being totally in love with Damon Salvatore.

I loved this chapter and how ytou are unfolding the story and all the issues that are unsolved in the show.

Yup, I'm sadly writing her as how she is on the show last season. I still love her, but she's actually dropped out of my top 5 characters at this point (which she hasn't ever NOT been in before).

Just caught up, but I am still only halfway through this chapter.

I have been enjoying this story so far and it's good to see Elena finally sorting through all those Stefan issues that she's swept under the carpet for way too long, but I'm afraid I have some issues with the execution of this chapter. I am happy to elaborate these thoughts to you, but only if you want me to give you my brutally honest opinion - maybe by email?

AHHHH, the ANGST!!!! :( I love how carefully you choose Elena's dialogue -- because you provide such insight into the workings of her mind, I DO understand her (despite being Team Damon, always). "I don't *want* to want you" is absolutely perfect -- because it's not a lie. And I LOVE that in a chapter about respecting choice, and when we should or shouldn't do what our loved ones ask, you closed the chapter with the most powerful choice of all: to love someone and be able to set them free. :( Of course, I cling to "for now" (shades of "It's right, just not right now

Yes, that was very deliberate. And it's really how I think Elena feels. She feels SO MUCH for him. That's not the problem. The problem is that she doesn't WANT to feel for him SO MUCH.

But that kiss, when she shoved him away? OMG HOT. :D
