AHHHH, the ANGST!!!! :( I love how carefully you choose Elena's dialogue -- because you provide such insight into the workings of her mind, I DO understand her (despite being Team Damon, always). "I don't *want* to want you" is absolutely perfect -- because it's not a lie. And I LOVE that in a chapter about respecting choice, and when we should or shouldn't do what our loved ones ask, you closed the chapter with the most powerful choice of all: to love someone and be able to set them free. :( Of course, I cling to "for now" (shades of "It's right, just not right now.")

But that kiss, when she shoved him away? OMG HOT. :D

Once again, you make me feel for Stefan -- though I LOVED Matt telling it like it is, and calling out the double standard. The moment that he realized Matt's body was too badly damaged and needed Rebekah's blood, so he failed to save BOTH people...wow. That was just so powerful. And you held the moment just perfectly -- having him walk out afterwards. Beautifully written. :)

Of course, I loved to see Elena and Bonnie's girl talk (and Bonnie solidifying her Team Damon membership card! Bonnie! But it just makes SENSE!!! And I'm glad she used the "her or Jeremy" line, too -- I mean...you save the one you love! :) And Caroline recounting the Council meeting will never not be awesome. :D

Yes, that was very deliberate. And it's really how I think Elena feels. She feels SO MUCH for him. That's not the problem. The problem is that she doesn't WANT to feel for him SO MUCH.
