Again, from
the_grynne.
Reading: Yeah, I've kinda given up on starting any new books. Despite the fact that I've got about three I want to read, including a Westmacott and Natascha Kampusch's book, not to mention the new Loretta Chase and the new Meredith Duran due to be released here. Argh. In fact, I've given up on doing any non-Pratchett reading cos I'm just not in receive mode at the moment. Not when it comes to books. I want to be writing, not reading. I'm kinda fine with that. Can't be receiving all the time, have to take it in turns. And I'm just grateful that I do want to be transmitting at the moment. So at the moment, it's just a re-read of Unseen Academicals as my nightcap Pratchett. Which, argh, is reminding me just how much I love it, how tender it is.
Listening: my non-novel playlist which includes a whole heap of stuff I downloaded from
the_raddy's 365 Days Of Song project which, yay, I can finally explore thanks to the wireless. God, it's so nice to have good new music to explore. That happy surprise of new sounds from the iPod dock and glancing over and going "Damn, I need to change that display to show the song title and artist." Which I have now or at least figured out how to change it from the equaliser bars momentarily and then change it back again. Hee! Oh, and including a whole album of covers by Marissa Nadler which are an exclusive download as thanks for buying the new album.
Eating: Just finished a bowl of mashed potato --- mashpatatermashpatater! *does the dance* sorry --- which omg, so yummy. I lurve mashed potato. Speshly in winter. And the Aunt found this brand at Aldi which is so great you wouldn't even know it came out of a packet. And it takes about ten seconds to prepare, no microwave needed. God, I adore Aldi. I wish I had one near me. I'd buy their entire stock of Christmas dark chocolate marzipan logs every year and ration them out to myself so I never go without.
And my culinary discovery of the week is the Crust caesar salad which I used to have before but not quite like this. Without the white sauce or the parmesan or the anchovies. Which leaves only the best stuff: lots of yummy crisp fresh lettuce, lots of crisp bacon bits, and tonnes of yummy slightly soggy croutons. Mmmm soggy croutons. Okay, so it's a bit dry but that makes me drink more water which is always a good thing. Especially after the coroner's case I started transcribing late Friday evening. Gad. *drinks more water*
Wearing: my Gary Numan tshirt --- so totally fucking counting the weeks to the new album after listening to three new songs on YouTube, eee! --- and red trackies and warm sockies.
Planning: to watch People Will Talk ... which I always get confused with Penny Serenade but that's much sadder, isn't it? I should watch that again. And man, I am so tempted to order off Amazon the Tyler Perry movies I can't get at my video store. I love his writing so damned much.
