Either it's guilt or I'm going into withdrawals.
Last night, I did not dream about Alias. Should have, right? Didn't. Although I did wonder when the rockstar slash would appear.
Dreamt instead that Ari and I travelled to this deep black ampitheatre to see the Mess Hall perform. People crowding the many tiers and down we stepped through the usual Anno crowd of slightly scruffy guys and marginal trendoids to the big big stage. There were two unremarkable support acts. I think Ari and I were discussing possible apartments to rent, ice blue sterile places we didn't like very much.
Just before the last support act, we wandered out to the pub area to get drinks which kinda looked like the upper level of the Townie. *blinks* So we go to sit down and there's a bit of commotion up ahead. We watch curiously and turns out three kids have been ushered in by a whole group of fussing adults. Why? No idea. But they sit down at our table and we say hi and reassure the adults they'll be fine, yes they can leave the young'uns with us.
The kids are either Harry, Hermione and Ron.
Or Dan, Emma and Rupert. All looking the age they were in Philosopher's Stone.
So naturally we're a little protective but still maintaining our nonchalant air of coolness, telling them they'll really like the Mess Hall. And past them, I spot a familiar shaggy head and nudge Emma/Hermione. "See? That's J-Boy. You'll like him."
Ohhhh yes. J-Boy and Demon Drummer sauntered into the bar area, DD always looking a tad laidback and easier than the shyer nervous J-Boy. We ogle them for a while, possibly the boys as well. *blinks*
And finally it's time for the main act. J-Boy and Demon Drummer disappear. We guide the kids into the ampitheatre, down the crowded steps, all liquor splashed and cigarette strewn. And, ah, it's a brilliant gig. J-Boy looking particularly fangy and jagged haired, screaming brilliance, all lean and tortured and animalistic. Guh.
And we might have met them after the gig, I'm not sure. There's some hazy image of joking with them at the bar, me making googly eyes at J-Boy.
So, yeah, either I'm feeling a lot of guilt about not seeing the Regular Johns, not seeing the Mercy Arms, possibly not seeing the Dolly Rockers and various other gigs I've declined.
Or I'm suffering withdrawals. Ugh.
So I'm wearing my Mess Hall tee to work today. And this is how my brain works. This morning's halfasleep music selection is Jeff Buckley.
Who bears a striking resemblance to Mess Hall J-Boy. Yeesh.
