Well, Friday would have been just another boring night in front of my computer, but it just so happened that I ran into Lauren, Cody, Nathan, and Justin while I was at the Russell House. At the beginning of the year I was hanging out with them a good bit, but as the year went on I saw them less and less frequently. I think I've eaten with Lauren and Cody one time since I've been back from Christmas Break. I felt bad about never seeing them, so when they asked me to hang out, how could I refuse? Even if it means going to a gay bar to see a drag show.
But it wasn't for an hour, so I came back and talked to Richard online. I told him I was going to a drag show, and he goes "I like tractor pulls better." Now, at first, I thought this was really hilarious. See, a tractor pull, which sounds like some back woods red neck event, is very very far away from seeing guys in drag. One would not expect someone who has seen a drag show to also be into tractor pulls. Unless you're some nasty transvesitive redneck. Anyway, I found that hilarious, until I found out that he thought I was going to a different kind of drag show, some other redneck type thing where you drag something, I dunno, don't wanna know. So, then his comment was just ordinary and boring.
He begged me not to go when I told him what I meant by "drag show." But of course I went anyway. It was me, Lauren, Nathan, Cody, and this dude named John, who I met for the first time. We got there around 9 so we wouldn't have to pay, and the show didn't start until 11:30. So, yeah, we waited for a while. Cody called up this one girl to come, who I think is convinced she's a guy. She didn't look like a guy or anything, but she sure did act like one. And she kept lifting up her shirt so people could see her boxers, yeah, that's right, boxers. Messed up. So, we went to a table, where we sat and listened to techno music for a looooong time. At one point Lauren and Cody left, so there I was, sitting in a gay bar with two guys. Oh yay, this is really what I wanted my college experience to be. They were only gone like, 5 mins, but I swear it was the longest five minutes of my life.
At one point, some dude tapped me on the shoulder. Oh God, I was scared it was gonna be some gay guy asking me to dance or something. Luckily, the dude just wanted to know if a seat was taken. I think if any guy had hit on me though, I would have just shown him my shirt. It's the green one that Andrew Benfer left at my house cause his parents wouldn't let him wear it. The front has this chick, and the back says "Nasty Little Thoughts." Actually, then the guy would probably just figure I'm bi, so, maybe that wouldn't work.
The show finally started. The guys actually did look like women. I figured it might be some nasty thing, with guys with like facial hair or something, but it wasn't like that at all. It was still nasty though, the dude started sweating as he sang, at one point he turned his head really fast, and the sweat went flying, yuck! Well, I guess overall it was an interesting experience, a lot better than being bored all night. We left and listened to "Dragostea Din Tei," cause it's the most awesomest song ever. Everyone got into it, we were rocking the car, it was great.
Saturday I went home, though I didn't know I was going home. My parents picked me up, and I basically spent my Saturday night with them. We watched Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Yeah, I'd seen it before, and yeah, I even wrote about it here when I did, but, it's a good movie. It's really moving, and made me sort of sad. Man, I want a girl like Kate Winslet(sp?) in that movie. She is most awesome.
Came back here today, like always. Nothing really great happened today, had dinner with Lauren, Cody, John, and this other dude. Missed the Super Bowl, don't really care though. Gonna watch that new show "American Dad" on Fox in a few. Well, that's it, I'm out.
