I've already been admitted and committed to a Master of Arts program in English this coming Fall, however, I recently decided that I'd like to pursue a PhD and therefore am thinking about applying to PhD programs this coming Fall and, if admitted, transferring Fall 2011...does anyone have any experience with this? After all of the issues I've dealt with so far in the grad program I'm in, I've just about had it. Today my current advisor lied to my face. He was fired by the department and they informed me a couple weeks back. The chair asked me today if my advisor had discussed it with me yet.
