I got that Lincoln Laboratory position, and am now On A Career Path, a very exciting path to be on, and a very exciting path to actually have. I just saw a job posting today for what amounts to the exact same position I had in the NYU TV Studios at Emerson College, the job that, though I liked it, was still a little oppressive in the end because there was nowhere to go and it was only part-time. In film school we were often told what I assume is common knowledge, that to succeed in the entertainment business and to continue to get jobs, it is imperative that one network and schmooze and just generally keep in good touch with people, even without the negative connotations of the "schmooze." Regarding the purging of personal possessions (still), my beloved Carrie Brownstein has some wise words:

"I guess, in the process of downsizing, I've come to the conclusion that memory is as good of a storage space as anything."

How simple and true. Not that it makes things easier to let go of, but at least it's a place to start changing

As you can read from my last entry, much of my weekend home was spent going through my closet and throwing things away, which actually turned out to be satisfying rather than anxiety-inducing like I thought it would have been.
