(I couldn't believe how hard it was to find a 2-piece flannel set this year!), Microfleece seems to have replaced everything, which is annoying to both me (I prefer flannel) and L (who prefers cotton

The fleece would be nice for just lounging around in, but way too hot for me to sleep in. And then the plain knit PJs have the opposite problem for me. Flannel is generally just perfect - it's been frustrating!
MiniPlu has only read Fault In Our Stars and liked it (although, irritatingly enough, she liked the movie better). She seems to be finding knock-off dystopian books repetitive (she's re-reading Hunger Games and still loves it, but started getting bored by the end of the Divergent series) and I'm having a hard time finding another book or type she would like. All I can say is - I didn't like Looking for Alaska, myself, and it made me reluctant to try other John Green novels. I loved AFIOS, but have no idea how any of the other books are. I would probably just pick one, if you're going to go book-ish, and hope for the best

My daughter has been using GoodReads to find books to try. The recommendations aren't always great, but there tend to be a lot of them, and people make lists of thematically linked books that can be helpful in finding more books like something else.
Right now, my daughter's very much into Marissa Meyer's series that starts with Cinder and Marie Lu's books and Kerstin Gier's books.
After consulting with L, we will give An Abundance of Katherines a shot with MiniPlu -- it's really cute, and I think you might also get a kick out of it. And, hoping for the best.
Also, getting this penguin and this penguin for Two (one for Christmas, one for birthday) -- not sure if his wishlist will automatically update. (They're cuter than the ones we have at the zoo :P)
That's really impressive that MiniPlu went that far above and beyond! And I can imagine, getting stuck with editing something that long!
Ha. My sister inherited the full-size bed my parents had shared, when they got divorced. Not only did she not care what had transpired, she also, you know, made use of it...and once my college BF and I "slept" there. It was like something out of Chaucer, in retrospect.
Poor MiniPlu, but I'm still LOLing. :D I think TC just chooses not to think about anything that might have happened in my bed in the past (she sleeps/lounges there often).
I think kids normally like to believe that their parents only had sex once per kid, just to conceive them, and that was it. Our kids could pretend we never had sex, lol - except now that illusion has been shattered. ;)
that's so funny! I never reacted that way, not even at MiniPlu's age! I don't get it why kids are so grossed out at the mere thought that their parents could have/ had sex and god forbid, enjoy(ed) it! :-)
I remember being weirded out when my friend discovered condoms in her parents' nightstand. I think it's because kids this age aren't remotely interested in sex, themselves, yet, so they think the entire concept is gross and weird, much less involving ones' parents! :-P
