Espionage

I met up with a couple of people who wanted to play tourist today. One was a Brit guy who lives in Philly, the other was a Belgian girl who lived in DC but had only been here a couple of months. After a tour of the American History museum, we went to the International Spy Museum. Brit guy paid for me, which was really nice. We spent 3 hours in there and would have probably stayed longer if it wasn't closing time. I was really fascinated by the whole thing and it was quite amazing.

I didn't see anything about Scotland Yard, however. I got a call from Green Eyes, who wanted to go out. I told him I was out with some people and he still wanted to come.

I guess it was because it was his last night in DC before heading back to another state where he was studying so he wanted to say a proper goodbye.

We all went to Adams Morgan (and by this time, my feet were dead in the sandals I was wearing). The Diner is a really cool place. I liked the ambiance and we all enjoyed eating and talking but I got tipsy on just one Bellini. I can down up to 2.5 glasses of wine (after doing all that practicing on leftover wine) and still be okay but one glass of Bellini and I knew I couldn't drink anymore if I hoped to get home on my own legs.

As it was, Green Eyes was offering to carry me (btw, I've lost 2.5 lbs. recently so I'm probably light enough) but we walked hand-in-hand instead. He reminds me of Kyle Maclachlan, with that cleft chin. It was funny that he was still taller than me even though we were hugging on the escalator with him one step lower.

(Faaaaak, I really am short.)

He said he'd drive me home, so I left my car at the Smithsonian.

He said now he has a reason to go back home (having friends) and asked me to keep in touch. I gave him a chaste goodbye kiss and he was gentleman enough to wait till I got inside the apartment building. I'll miss him.

All in all, a pretty nice ending to a crappy week where I spent a long time registering and paying for 5 courses that I am taking this summer. *headdesk*
