I like a few strings. I like knowing that someone will want to know how I'm doing, if I'm eating well, am I having fun...

I like a few strings.

I would also like someone who'd feel the same way but would want it not because he just wanted to be accountable to someone but because he wanted me. Calling because he finds my views interesting, taking walks with me because everything I share is fascinating and spending time with me because he wants to know the me no one else knows.

No strings attached? Not for me. I like a few strings.

That aside, this was the most enjoyable Monday I've spent in a long time. Of course, a regular Monday means a yawning, bleary-eyed, early morning presence at work. Today, I went hiking.

The Billy Goat Trail at Great Falls in MD isn't an easy trail. It was a good thing that I was with somewhat athletic people --- none of us fell, got scratches or scraped our knees. There was a lot of sweat, though, since it was 93 degrees today and we all kept swigging from our water bottles.

Nature never ceases to give the most wonderful views. I may tire of going to the gym but put me on a trail and I feel like I could go on forever.

It took us less than two hours to do the whole trail. Then 4 of us 5 went to eat a late lunch on Macarthur Blvd (8000 row).

Have I said it yet? I love prosciutto.

Also, tonight was my first harvest from my balcony garden. I cut off some Mike-the-mesculun-lettuce leaves for my packed lunch tomorrow.
