bakatenshi was asking about what I did to get started here. So I'm going to write up what I did to get started with this.
I was first inspired to start doing the home brewing from my brother. He has been a home brewer for a like 8 years or something, and I've always seen how much personal enjoyment he has gotten from it. Then I had the chance to help with bottling a couple times and I decided I wanted to get started myself. I waited a long time before I actually bought the equipment, but when I finally decided to, I searched on
google for local homebrew stores.
I found two in my area, one called bob's homebrewing in university village and one called
cellar homebrew on greenwood and 145th. I went to cellar homebrew and bought the
starter kit from the store. The one at the store is a little bit different to the one offered online. I also bought the 5 gallon boiling pot.
That was all I needed to get started. I do all the cooking in kitchen and am storing the fermentors in the living room. The hardest part about storage is the bottles. I'm keeping the empties in boxes in the garage.
