One of the things that I found really interesting about those books (in a Meta sense) is that most of the detractors seem to agree that it could have been a good story in the hands of other writer. Yesterday I was on Impish Idea reading some articles about Eragon and Star Wars when I was struck by a curious thought. I think that Saphira might be a completely superfluous character.
