I really am still working on it, though. I changed the part about the chair/patronus just before I posted you the link, and I've fixed a couple other things since then. I'll post it as soon as it's finished, I promise!

I just wish I knew what you can do with arithmancy!! The books mention number charts and numerology, but there's nothing about actual applications.

As far as the feathers go... when he was a baby his mother found him using that wandless child-magic on the airplane mobile above his crib, and that was when she made a very conscious choice never to tell him about brooms.

I will post it!

There's a 'parents' prompt, and that'll probably end up being his mother's pov. Other than that, though, I don't know what else might get written in this AU; right now I'm trying to find a good episode guide that mentions all the times he's been injured. Need it to see if he's at all Highlander-compatible.

He may have to do *something* to Rodney, though. Hmmmm...

he accidentally turned his hair into feathers.

The next day she patted him on the head (it never quite went back to the way it was before)

*flails rather a LOT* that. he. it. *pets him*

He would do it, too. You know he would. There's a reason his mother never told him about brooms.

*sighs* John's hair is my secret fanon weakness.

That? That is SO cool, and the feathers (sweeeeeeeet!) and the swiss army knife and the arithmancy and everything - just way too cool.

And I usually hate crossovers. Yeah. Uh huh.

Damn, but I want to read more of this AU!!

Glad you liked it!

There's going to be at least one prequel, something from his mom's pov. I don't currently have any sequel plans, but there's still 98 prompts to use, and I'm starting to get this strange mental image of carving equations on a wall with the knife...

JOHN'S HAIR! OMG! This explains so much!

Everyone who is involved in both these fandoms should write a crossover. Except that would mean me so forget that.

I love this! Thank you! And I love how they dodged the letter! Very clever.

*g* I love his hair.

The thing is, *I'm* not involved in both these fandoms! I've never had the urge to write HP in my life, and then this just blindsided me.

And I feel a little guilty for sending all those post owls through the jet engines, but it was for a good cause.

Thanks!

post owls through the jet engines

*headdesk* I'm so slow on the uptake some days. Now I understand what the chanting the day before his eleventh birthday was about.

Oh, and I forgot to say: this is really good. You have a great concept going here.

That's just so sweet and perfect and I really love John's voice in this.
