Do I did and only get the major but not the degree. I got my "official" degree in history but I say Bachelor of Arts in History with another major in anthropology. :)
So... you double majored, but unofficially? Wouldn't it have looked better with the official double major? (especially since you took the classes anyways)
nope, Officially double majored but not double degreed. My university (Washington State University) has two options: 1: Two degrees (180 credits, one degree is 120) 2) Double major, one degree. It's kind of a complicated process but basically I didn't have enough credits to get another full degree.
So if I earned a secondary major in anthroplogy, I could still go on to grad school for the masters, right? (as opposed to going to grad school after a primary major) Do you know if primary vs. secondary major makes that much of a difference?
I've been able to finagle the anthropology degree pretty well in job interviews. I often get asked what good anthropology is, and my answer is usually along the lines of it giving me the ability to interact with a wide variety of people and cultures. It's served me well, as far as that goes.
I think if you enjoy it you should pursue it. That's what I did for undergrad and loved it. Currently I'm finishing up a program to get two teaching credentials and an MS in Special Education. People are CONSTANTLY asking me what on earth Anthropology has to do with being a teacher and every time I tell them that I feel it was really the most useful degree I could have gotten to prepare me for a teaching job. It's a very unique major and allows you to learn how to look outside yourself and see things from the perspective of others. That's an incredibly useful skill to have. Really, it's a degree that can be applied to a lot of different fields.
My understanding however is that to really get any really good *Anthropology* jobs you need to have an MA or an MS rather than just a BA/BS. So if you want to actually officially work as an anthropologist and not just use the degree for another field, you may want to consider that.

Sorry for the semi-random additional questions!

If you don't mind me asking, what kinds of jobs have you interview for?
