Today's adventure in cooking lead to a rather nice discovery - vanilla goes exceptionally well with pork. Made a glaze for a pork roast of warm honey, vanilla (bean) and a little salt. Too yummy for words!

Walking home this afternoon past the Royal Oak Hotel, and I could tell they had pork chops on the counter meal menu. Instant Want! I have a beautiful, gleaming, shiny new stove! It is called Emilia Glem - no, really, Glem is the brand and Emilia is the model, and the name is sticking (after all, the dishwasher is called Steve and the washing machine is called Bernie.)
