Another... lonely... day.

Hello everyone. Is your day going well so far?

Last night was the last time I got to talk to Amy & Katie for about a week and a half because they were going to visit their sister and other friends up in Ohio. They had to get up at 5 so they could leave at 6 (an estimated 7 hour drive to get there), but of course that didn't stop her, me, and Stephanie from being on the phone til 2:30 in the morning, if that's when it was.. I lost track. We were all rather tired when we got off the phone, but Amy didn't mind only getting 2 hours of sleep because nothing passes a long road trip better than sleeping though it. And I can understand that. When we got off the phone, we all said goodbye and I'll miss you to each other, then Amy went to bed and I found out today that Stephanie tried to stay up. She was going to call Amy at 5:30 and then call me, so I already had all my phones unplugged except for my cordless which I had with me, far away from everyone else, and laid on the couch.

I don't remember anything between then and when it rang at 9:30. It was Alex, with a question about the project we have to do for school next year. He seemed surprised that I was awake, considering I normally sleep til 12, and I would have slept through the ringing phone if I had actually been in my warm comfy bed. But I wasn't. It felt weird waking up in our family room, but I remembered Amy & Katie and figured they must have been at least halfway there by that point, and wondered how long Amy had slept.. Katie probably didn't that long because she actually slept most of the night.

Later I was sending a few emails, and Stephanie called me. We both already missed Amy being here.. sometimes I feel so pathetic. It's not like I depend on her to breath or anything, it's just that even when we're not talking on the phone it's just a comfortable feeling to know she's there.

But anyways, on a side note I have almost talked my parents into getting us this 400 watt RCA home theater, which I could plug into the audio outs on the back of our TV and that way use it with anything.. the PS2, N64, VCR, and even cable televison. And of course there's the 5 disc DVD/CD changer inside it. I have the speaker arrangements planned out and everything.

For that system, $200. It was the best value for the money they had at Target. But my mom came home and said she saw an Emerson home theater in Dollar General for only $100. Don't get me wrong, Dollar General is all just surplus stuff. There's nothing wrong with it. So I hopped on my bike, cruised down to the DG at about 20 mph, walked in to where my mom said it was at, and began examining.

2 minutes later I had the diagnosis. 5.1 DTS surround (as they all are), but it was only 80 watts and only had one disc slot. It didn't look as good either. I figured that for twice as much money, you have 5 times the power and 5 times the disc capacity.

It had only been maybe 5 minutes since I had left the house, then I slid sideways into the driveway and walked inside, to see me mom just coming into the family room. She was surprised that I was back so soon, and told me I had just missed a call.

From Amy.

I nearly kicked myself for choosing to leave at that moment, and then went and called her back, as I figured she was on her cell phone and I knew the number.

I talked to her for a minute or so, and she told me that they actually got there about an hour sooner than they thought. It's typical, I guess, if you're going to travel so early in the morning, to not hit much traffic.

But since there were things going on and they still needed to unpack, we decided to get on instant messenger tonight afer they're all settled in. But getting to talk to her, even though the last time was only about 13 hours ago, really made my day. I don't know what I'd do if we ever had to move away or something..

That's all for now. I'm out, and very happy.
