1) DADT REPEALED. FINALLY. I jumped for joy when I heard the news on the radio. (And then I hit my head because I was in the car) It doesn't take away my disappointment about the tax deal or the lack of passing START, but it's nice to get something right ( Read more... )

I went to see Juno today.  ...and Atonement.  And now I just turned on The Hours.  Because apparently I haven't seen enough depressing movies today.  I found Juno oddly depressing after reading that it was a comedy and so very awesome.  I don't know.  The first fifteen minutes felt oddly precious, but then I enjoyed it more and more.  Well, enjoyed ( Read more... )

Huh, I keep pinching myself to see if I'm dreaming about the elections.  It seems so very impossible in so many ways.  And one of the things I keep going back to is that come January, we're going to have the first female Speaker of the House.  The person third in line for the Presidency is going to be a woman.  This just thrills me beyond belief.  ( Read more... )

So treacle tart, I mean undercovertowel, and I took a small break from being grownups and went out to play in the snow this evening.  And it is coming down like mad.  We made snow angels and wrote our names in the snow (NOT in the icky sense).  It was great.  Too bad my gloves and coat are soaked now.
