(no subject)
Phew, fics del.icio.us-ified now. That sentence would make so much sense to most people, too. Noticed that I tend to sort fics by era rather than genre (mostly MWPP-era, then OOTP), and that my views on what is Gen is really... fluid. I even marked some stuff as gen and slash, which probably makes no sense but works for me who only actually considers long romance fics with slash pairings slash and everything else gen. Or something. It got a bit confusing.
I haven't read most of these in ages. Should remedy that, as I still can't decide on how I should write my WIP. Or if I should at all, before DH - as the canon-thumper I am I start to hyperventilate at the thought of all that DH could ruin there. Right now I don't want Rodolphus to make a canon appearance ever, so I can keep my fic and never be threatened by canon again.
That sounds sane, I'm sure.
For a canon-thumper I have a lot of AUs as favourites, but it's not the kind of AU my WIP could become with a canon!Rodolphus - I can do AUs where the characterisations are canonical, and that is the damn problem with the WIP. Seriously, I angst over this quite a bit - I should just have written it months ago when I started planning it, because I won't be able to post-DH if... well, if what, I'm not sure - at most he'll just get page time to die anyway so I don't knoooow.... Sometimes I think that I'm stretching canon and that everything I hate about fanon!Rodolphus is bound to become canon, and then I realise that there is no bleeding canon the guy (not even whether he's thin or thickset, for Christ's sake) - so it'd be kind of hard to sqander every single thing in WIP with a death scene. I much doubt that the inner dynamics of the Lestrange marriage is a vital plot point, somehow. This is probably what happens to your perspective when you get absorbed in minor characters. But, but... what if it all goes hugely-OOC?! I don't want to be this invested in a fanon characterisation, really - I saw what happened to people after HBP ;)
GOD. I usually say that if someone's named, someone will show up, but maybe I can hold out hope that it doesn't apply to some people...? Or I'll have a Blasise Zabini situation on my hands, I don't want that. Thank God MWPP is pretty set by now. <---- will so get to regret that statement, I'm sure.
