This season has been, in my not-particularly-humble opinion, a rather dismal one for anime.

I was cautiously anticipating Bakuman, Soredemo Machi wa Mawatteiru, and Iron Man. The reviews for Bakuman put me off the show so much that I don't intend to watch any of it. Soredemo was... weird. Very weird. I enjoyed the way it poked fun at maid cafe ( Read more... )

Hey, check out the Iron Man anime preview on youtube! I'm suddenly so much more excited about this series. The animation is about seven thousand kinds of shiny (can you say "GIANT AMERICAN ANIMATION BUDGET!!"?) and the character designs are all straight-up Captain Harlock kind of stuff - and they're really cool looking, from what you can see in ( Read more... )

Geh. o_o Jake and I just watched Sword of the Stranger which is an amazing movie but not something you want to watch right before bed. As the credits were rolling, Jake wailed, "That was a stressful movie!" and I had to agree.
