Yes, yes, I know, I'm the last person in the world to finish reading it, but still. I just finished Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
DAMN THAT WAS GOOD.
Rambling thoughts. Knew Dumbledore wasn't going to make it. Suspected that Snape was the Half-Blood Prince (c'mon, who ELSE would know all those potions?) before it was revealed. Still not completely buying Snape's Death Eater spy status (just seems too obvious, what with chapter two and all). LOVED all the detail about Draco, and was shocked by the vulnerability that Rowling gave him. LOVED what happened to Bill, because I'm sick that way. LOVED LOVED LOVED all the backstory on Tom Riddle. MEEP! Don't care one way or another about the kids' ships, so the Ron/Hermione and Harry/Ginny stuff didn't bother me in the slightest (though I can't WAIT to catch up on all the wank *g*).
And as for Remus/Tonks, dude, I totally knew that was gonna happen, I'm sure a bunch of fourteen-year-old puppyshippers are up in arms about it, but I don't care. It doesn't ruin my mental canon of Remus/Sirius (in fact, that whole scene by the fire at Christmas is SO easily fanwankable *G*), and besides, did ANYONE realistically think that Rowling would ever make that canon? PLEASE. As long as I can read in my subtext wherever I want it, I'm still happy. Besides, Tonks is cute, and Remus deserves someone in his life. Awwwww. :)
