There is something about my social wiring that I much prefer the spontaneous outing to a planned one.  This weekend in is the church retreat. I wanted to go. I was looking forward to it. However,  the closer the date of the event gets, the more I don't want to go.  The longer I have to think about something, the more time I have to imagine why it's going to suck or not meet my expectations.  I have no time to invent expectations for things that happen on the spur of the moment, so I don't lose my enthusiasm for them before they occur.
